Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Drafter to support our design and production teams by preparing accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp. This position will assist in developing submittals, shop drawings, and fabrication details for architectural casework, millwork, and other custom components.

Training will be provided, with opportunities for advancement into senior drafting, engineering, or project management roles. This is an ideal role for recent graduates or candidates with basic drafting experience who want to grow within a commercial construction or manufacturing environment.

Must have portfolio ready for interview.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce and revise 2D and 3D technical drawings based on redlines, architectural plans, and construction specifications.

Support the creation of shop drawings, submittal packages, and production files for casework and millwork.

Work closely with project managers and senior drafters to ensure accuracy, completeness, and code/spec compliance.

Interpret and apply architectural drawings, construction specifications, and finish schedules.

Maintain drawing standards and assist in document control processes.

Assist in learning and using Microvellum software to generate part lists, production outputs, and CNC files (training provided).

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or CAD certificate preferred.

Proficient in AutoCAD and basic SketchUp.

Ability to read and understand architectural plans, sections, and construction documents.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Basic knowledge of casework, cabinetry, or millwork materials and assemblies.

Team-oriented with good communication and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Microvellum or other casework-specific drafting software.

Understanding of Division 6 (Millwork) and Division 12 (Specialties) specifications.

Familiarity with AWI Standards and typical submittal requirements.

Exposure to cabinet construction, shop fabrication processes, or CNC workflows.
