About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable, technology-comfortable, and execution-driven Director of Multi-Unit Operations to oversee and strengthen operations across a growing portfolio of retail and food service businesses.
This role is designed for a strong operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands how to improve execution, build accountability, strengthen leadership teams, implement systems, and drive measurable operational performance across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is not a desk manager or corporate administrator. This position requires active field leadership, operational problem-solving, financial awareness, technology adaptability, leadership development, and the ability to build operational consistency through both people and systems.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple retail and food service locations
- Ensure operational consistency, cleanliness, customer experience, execution, and overall performance standards
- Conduct regular location visits, operational audits, and performance reviews
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective action plans
Performance & Profitability
- Analyze operational and financial performance across locations
- Improve operational efficiency through stronger systems, accountability, labor management, inventory controls, and execution standards
- Monitor key operational metrics and support profitability improvement initiatives
- Assist leadership in identifying operational growth opportunities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop location-level management teams
- Build a culture focused on accountability, urgency, professionalism, and execution
- Hold managers accountable through measurable expectations and structured follow-up
- Assist in resolving operational and staffing challenges
Technology, Reporting & Systems
- Utilize technology, operational reporting, and performance data to improve visibility and decision-making
- Develop and improve operational procedures, reporting structures, accountability systems, and operational workflows
- Monitor KPIs, labor reporting, inventory trends, operational metrics, and performance indicators
- Help implement and improve operational systems, digital reporting processes, and accountability tools
- Use spreadsheets, operational dashboards, task management systems, and operational platforms effectively
Inventory & Operational Controls
- Improve operational visibility surrounding inventory movement, ordering practices, waste reduction, and operational consistency
- Identify operational inefficiencies and areas requiring improvement
- Strengthen location-level operational discipline and follow-through
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain organized operational reporting and follow-up systems
- Provide leadership with regular updates regarding operational performance, staffing concerns, opportunities, and action plans
- Use operational data and observations to drive accountability and operational decisions
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of multi-unit operations management experience
- Strong background in retail, restaurant, grocery, convenience, or food service operations
- Experience managing multiple locations and leadership teams
- Strong understanding of labor management, operational systems, inventory controls, and profitability management
- Comfortable using technology, operational reporting systems, spreadsheets, and performance-tracking tools
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
- Comfortable with regular travel between locations and flexible operational schedules when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing both retail and food service operations
- Experience leading operational improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of multi-location operational execution
- Experience building operational systems and accountability structures
- Experience using operational technology and reporting platforms to improve business performance
Compensation
- Base Salary: Up to $80,000
- Performance-Based Incentive: Up to $20,000 annually
- Additional growth opportunity for strong performers
