Full Job Description

Job Summary
The primary responsibilities and activities of a Chemical Operator - Compounder at Advanced Powder Solutions are:

· Compounding and blending of products from various industries including but not limited to cosmetics, nutraceuticals, plastics, metals, aerospace polymers and colors.

· Successfully & safely operate both laboratory-pilot scale Gemco Dryers, Blenders and Formulators as well as large commercial versions of the same up to 150ft3.

· Regularly lift and or carry up to 55Lbs (25 Kilograms) throughout the day.

· Be on their feet for at least 8 hours during any shift.

· Safely operate both small and medium-sized electric and propane fork trucks.

· Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and commercial vehicles as required.

· Ability to read and understand the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for the materials they are working with.

· Ability to read and understand the batch records, SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) and formulas they are presented with.

· Safely and successfully make adjustments to formulas when needed or required.

· Properly and safely use all PPE required for the position including but not limited to Tyvek suits and ½ face respirators

· Ability to clean and maintain their assigned work areas & equipment. This includes regular (Daily) mopping of the floor and cleaning of cabinetry, tables, and equipment.

· Review the production Calendar and advise management of potential problems or conflicts.

· Accurate completion of all documents to include batch records, equipment logs, cleaning logs, Shipping and Receiving paperwork etc.

· Keep management apprised of the need for and request materials, supplies and service of equipment when the need is recognized.

· “Lock Out & Tag Out” failed, damaged or improperly functioning equipment and report it to management.

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Proven work experience as a Chemical Operator or a similar role in the Production industry

· Complete understanding of the chemical processes and safety protocols

· Good time management and organizational skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Detail-oriented individual

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent physical dexterity

· Best multitasking ability

· Ability to handle stressful situations

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
