Overview
Dalton Ranch is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Sous Chef to lead and oversee our culinary and hospitality operations. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader with a strong background in food service management, fine dining, and team supervision. The Sous Chef will be responsible for ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining high standards of food safety, and delivering outstanding guest experiences across all dining and catering services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary direction of our organization while fostering a vibrant, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Excellence & Innovation: Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, seasonal recipe development, and crafting daily specials. Ensure exquisite plating, portion control, and flavor balance.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, train, and inspire the back-of-house staff. Conduct daily line-ups, delegate tasks efficiently, and foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Operational Management: Act as the Head Chef during your assigned shifts or the Executive Chef's absence. Expedite orders, manage ticket times, and resolve any kitchen issues quickly and gracefully.
Quality Control & Safety: Enforce the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene. Maintain impeccable cleanliness across all walk-ins, prep stations, and storage areas.
Financial Stewardship: Assist with inventory management, food cost controls, and vendor relations. Minimize waste and monitor product rotation daily.

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within the food industry, ideally in fine dining or upscale hospitality environments.
Banquet experience with a focus on large-scale event coordination and catering services.
Strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts with hands-on cooking skills.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing diverse teams across multiple departments.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory control techniques.
Experience in menu planning that emphasizes quality ingredients and innovative presentation.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and certifications relevant to the hospitality industry.
Previous restaurant or hospitality management experience is highly desirable.
