Full Job Description

A small boutique firm in Apex seeks a part-time Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support for the firm’s family law practice. The Paralegal position is hybrid each week with the potential for one (1) business day in the office and remote work on the other four (4) business days. Total anticipated work hours are approximately fifteen (15) hours per week. Prior experience in a law office is preferred and experience supporting attorneys that focus on family law is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.

Manage client intake process beginning with initial contact by prospective client, scheduling, intake paperwork, and post-consultation follow-ups.

Compose, draft, and edit letters, pleadings, spreadsheets, and other material assigned by supervising attorney.

Assist with e-filing and organization of digital records.

Process, review, and analyze financial documents received for cases.

Compose case summaries in an organized and concise manner.

Correspond with potential clients, existing clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant third parties in a professional and cordial manner.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree is required.

A minimum of two years’ experience in a law office is preferred.

Must have a positive attitude and exhibit professionalism.

Must be friendly and kind as we serve clients who are going through difficult divorces.

Must have the ability to manage your own time; maintain files, schedules, and assigned tasks; analyze and interpret information and make necessary decisions with accuracy; create and edit documents with a high degree of accuracy using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling; and organize and complete work by specific deadlines.

Must be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Office, Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow is also preferred.

Notary Public preferred.

Schedule and Pay:

One (1) business day in the office each week with remote work on the other four (4) business days. Anticipated work hours are approximately fifteen (15) hours per week.

Compensation of $20 per hour.
