THE POSITION

Join the Department of Human Services as a Food Service Worker 1 and help support daily meal service at our Ebensburg Center. This role lets you bring steady effort and care to a team that keeps meal operations moving. Your work will help ensure that individuals receive dependable meals each day. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports food preparation, food service and sanitation throughout Ebensburg Center. The work helps maintain safe, accurate and timely meal operations for individuals in care. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

Food Preparation: Prepare food items by following instructions and standardized recipes
Tray Assembly: Assemble meal trays accurately using tray tags and menus
Equipment Use: Operate food service equipment safely and according to procedures
Sanitation Work: Clean and sanitize dishware, equipment and work areas following schedules
Supply Transport: Move, load and unload carts and food supplies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch, with rotating days off.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Food production or food service experience in an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
