Full Job Description

Any U.S. location is accepted — this is a remote position.

Equivity is seeking an experienced Probate & Estate Planning Paralegal to support attorneys with both estate planning and probate administration matters.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience preparing estate planning documents while also assisting with probate matters from initial filing through final distribution. You'll work directly with attorneys to draft documents, manage deadlines, coordinate with clients, and help ensure matters progress efficiently.

In this role, you will be part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while being fully supported by Equivity's internal operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Draft estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, and related documents
Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and other court-required documents
Support probate matters from initial filing through final distribution, ensuring all required steps are completed
Assist with trust administration, including asset identification, valuation tracking, and distribution coordination
Communicate with clients to gather information and assist with estate planning questionnaires and probate matters
Coordinate with courts, financial institutions, title companies, and third parties to obtain documentation and move matters forward
Track and manage court deadlines, document execution, and case milestones across multiple active matters
Organize and maintain accurate case files, client records, and supporting documentation
Review documents for accuracy and completeness before attorney review
Work proactively with attorneys to anticipate next steps and keep matters progressing efficiently

About You

Minimum 3 years of probate and/or estate planning paralegal experience
Bachelor's degree required
Strong knowledge of estate planning documents and probate court procedures
Experience with trust administration and estate settlement preferred
Familiarity with WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, Clio, or similar legal software is a plus
Minimum availability of 20 hours/week
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Availability during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Windows-based computer preferred
Availability and responsiveness within one hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
