About us

Jacob & Hefner Associates, Inc. is a civil engineering, land surveying, and environmental services firm with offices in Illinois and California. The company's civil engineering and land surveying divisions were established in 1996 by Jeff Jacob and John Hefner. In 2006, the company expanded to California with the opening of JHA Environmental, Inc, with the primary focus on environmental remediation services. Expansion has continued with the addition of environmental services in Illinois in 2013, the opening of our environmental construction company, JHA Remediation, LLC, in California in 2014, the addition of civil engineering in Dallas, Texas in 2019.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our Land Surveying team. Our Survey Technicians play an important role in our organization by collecting and processing survey data from a variety of sources. Survey Technicians will have the opportunity to use their skills in a fast-paced environment and will display thorough attention to detail as they work with data sets of various sizes.

Responsibilities:

Review all computations relevant to survey plat and record plat preparation. Includes providing quality assurance checks on all plats prior to submission to county and/or client.
Keep Office Coordinator/Field Coordinator informed on status of all assigned projects and tasks Provide client/Project Manager coordination of work requests; maintain communication during work activities to include status updates and relay of project concerns and/or milestones.
Establish and maintain client contact, to include cultivating new client and work opportunities, maintaining contact with existing clients and meeting their survey and mapping related needs.
Preparing Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys
Layout of ALTA Survey map sheets
Layout of record map sheets (Final Maps, Parcel Maps & Records of Survey)
Layout of Final map and Parcel Map signature sheets
Draft legal descriptions and layout exhibit maps
Assist Land Survey Manager in preparation of project budgets and schedules
Proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D Software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
