Full Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Manual Machinist at Speedgrip Chuck Company you will play a crucial role in fabrication precision parts and contributing to the success of our manufacturing operations. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Setup and Operate Manual Machinery: Take charge of setting up and operating manual milling machines and lathe machines to produce high-quality metal components according to engineering specifications.

· Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand engineering blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine the appropriate machining processes and specifications.

· Quality Assurance: Perform thorough inspections of completed parts using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with required tolerances.

· Material Selection: Work with various types of metals and alloys, understanding the unique properties of each to achieve optimal results.

· Machine Selection: Maintain and perform basic repairs on manual machines, ensuring they are in top working condition for smooth production operations.

· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

· Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production.

Requirements:

· Experience: Proven experience as a Manual Machinist in a metal cutting or manufacturing environment, showcasing expertise in operating manual milling machines and lathes.

· Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and technical drawings.

· Measurement Tools: Familiarity with various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges to ensure precision and accuracy in machining.

· Metalworking Knowledge: A deep understanding of various metals, their properties, and machining techniques to produce quality components.

· Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and precision, ensuring the production of flawless parts.

· Problem Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain smooth operations.

· Team Player: Collaborative attitude, working effectively with colleagues to meet production goals.

· Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety guidelines.
