Full Job Description

Position Type:

Hourly FTE: Minimum of 3 shifts per week, 12 hour shifts, rotating weekends.
Hourly PTE: Less than 3 shifts per week, 12 hour shifts, rotating weekends.
Pay Type: Hourly, paid bi-weekly

The Medical Front Desk role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position exists to create a welcoming experience while ensuring accurate registration, scheduling, and patient flow. The role supports both administrative and clinical teams by managing patient information, verifying insurance, and collecting payments. Success in this position is measured by accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in every interaction.

Objectives

Ensure accurate and timely patient registration, including verification of demographics, insurance, and required forms.
Manage appointment scheduling and walk-in check-ins to support smooth patient flow.
Collect co-pays and outstanding balances with accuracy and professionalism.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area to support a welcoming environment.
Support the clinical team with administrative needs that improve patient care and clinic operations.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and a positive attitude.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and teammates.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient information, insurance verification, and payments.
Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Problem-solving skills to handle patient concerns and find solutions quickly.
Commitment to teamwork, reliability, and supporting others to meet clinic goals.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain at a desk or computer station for extended periods.
Frequent walking or standing to assist patients and staff throughout the clinic.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Frequent use of hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.
Clear vision, hearing, and speech to communicate effectively with patients in person and by phone.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a medical, dental, or customer service role preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn medical software.
