Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers and patients alike, ensuring smooth clinical operations and exceptional service delivery. Your skills in medical procedures, administrative tasks, and patient interaction will help foster a welcoming environment focused on health and healing. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career in diverse medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital departments, and specialty practices.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for procedures.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and assisting with X-ray procedures when necessary.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient encounters, updating charts, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating personal data, and explaining procedures to patients clearly.
Monitor patient vital signs and physiological data to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning across various specialties like dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
Provide medical administrative support by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and coordinating follow-up care with other healthcare providers.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols; assist with inventory management of medical supplies and medications.

Requirements

Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support effective patient care.
Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
Previous inpatient or hospital experience preferred; experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or surgical units; familiarity with X-ray procedures or PICU experience is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service; ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
