Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. Your expertise in payroll systems and accounting software will help us deliver accurate, timely compensation to our employees while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity. This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking organization committed to excellence in payroll management.

Duties

Process payroll using systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported payroll platforms.
Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, wages, benefits, deductions, and tax information within payroll systems.
Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of general ledger entries and account statements.
Maintain compliance with employment and labor laws by staying current on legal updates affecting payroll processing and tax law.
Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions, including debits & credits and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
Handle confidential employee information with the utmost discretion while managing payroll tax filings and benefits administration.
Collaborate with HRIS teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with HR systems and time & attendance systems.
Assist in audits by providing detailed reports on payroll activities, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
Support non-profit or governmental accounting requirements as needed, ensuring adherence to specific financial standards.

Skills

Extensive experience with payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported platforms.
Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, and payroll tax regulations across different jurisdictions.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial concepts including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits.
Skilled in spreadsheet applications for data analysis, reconciliation tasks, and reporting purposes.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information securely while managing sensitive payroll data.
Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and identifying discrepancies within payroll records.
Capable of performing precise data entry using 10-key typing skills under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with time & attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms supporting payroll processing functions.
Strong understanding of benefits administration processes within HRIS platforms.
