Full Job Description

Hinderliter Construction, Inc. is looking for a CAD Drafter / Project Assistant to provide full-time CAD drafting assistance, as well as general department and project administrative duties. The drafting role consists of site planning, general architectural drawings, and code research. Administrative tasks include drawing and documentation storage, organization and distribution, bid soliciting, general CAD take-off calculations, project file organization, and archiving.

This is a deadline-driven role that requires strong communication, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work independently while staying connected to the team.

This role is ideal for recent CAD drafting graduates with 2-3 years of experience in architectural drafting. Future roles would include a heavy concentration in design/build efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities

Utilize AutoCAD to draft architectural drawings
Learn and apply rules, regulations, codes, and client specifications when drafting
Organize and maintain project files and folders
Communicate with customers and vendors
Accounts payable review, job costing, and invoice data preparation
Conduct research to assist with projects or inquiries
Coordinate and schedule travel, meetings, and appointments
Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions
Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout projects
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices
Minimal travel to client sites, as needed
Assist in development of standard operating procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Google Drive
Basic understanding of office equipment
Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
Ability to work independently and reliably
Flexible and adaptable in various situations and when interacting with different personalities

Education and Experience

Associate degree or higher in Drafting or Design Engineering
2-3 years of experience in architectural drafting
