Job Description and Duties

Office Technician (T)/Office Assistant (T) - Under the direction of the Incarcerated Persons Assignment Lieutenant. Responsible for the overall paperwork flow, processing incarcerated persons ducats, tracking systems, performs computer updates, designs and technical support, knowledge of Access/Word/Excel/ERMS/SOMS systems, and data entry of the Incarcerated Persons Assignment Office.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent.

Working Conditions

California Medical Facility (CMF), located in a unique spot in Vacaville, CA. Unique as in being surrounded by many areas for family fun, exercise, touristy adventures and more. Approximately 35 miles east of downtown Sacramento, approximately 53 miles west of Pier 39 in San Francisco, and if you want to meet in the middle you can swing by Napa which is approximately 30 miles west. Also located nearby are the Vacaville Outlets for all your shopping needs.

CMF/Incarcerated Persons Assignment

Founded in 1885, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse correctional departments in the country. We are dedicated to enhancing public safety through the safe and secure incarceration of individuals in our care, by providing effective parole supervision, and implementing rehabilitative strategies for their successful reintegration into our communities.

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
