CNC Programmer Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for various machining processes including lathe and milling operations.
Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are used.
Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and bore gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles.
Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and production runs for quality assurance purposes.
Train operators on new programs and machine setups as needed.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed in the machine shop environment.

Skills

Proficient in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) with hands-on experience in machining operations.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and bore gauges for quality control.
Solid understanding of tooling requirements for various machining processes.
Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
