Full Job Description

Environmental Systems, Inc. (ESI) is an established heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractor with over 50 years of experience in the New England area. We are committed to providing exceptional service, which starts with our exceptional employees.

Overview:

ESI is currently seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on commercial and/or industrial piping systems and be skilled in reading blueprints, fabricating pipe, and performing high-quality welds in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects with a company that values safety, craftsmanship, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings
Determine proper welding methods, materials, and equipment for each project
Assemble, install, and repair commercial piping systems and pipe components
Perform pipe welding using TIG, Stick, and other welding processes as needed
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, clamping, and cleaning pipe
Inspect welds and completed work to ensure quality and code compliance
Maintain welding tools, equipment, and job site materials
Troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs or adjustments
Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times
Work collaboratively with pipe fitters, foremen, and project teams to meet deadlines

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Trade school certification or completed welding apprenticeship preferred
AWS certification preferred
Previous commercial pipe welding experience required
Strong understanding of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards
Experience with welding equipment, fabrication tools, and piping systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and lift heavy materials
