Full Job Description

Job title: full-Time High-Complexity Lab Technologist. 40 hours per week Work Location: Cincinnati, Ohio : Toxicology Reports to: Technical Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The High Complexity Lab Tech is responsible for managing laboratory workflow, accessioning and preparing clinical toxicology samples, performing instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.

LC-MS/MS workflows, and communicating with the technical supervisor.

Responsibilities

Adhere to laboratory Policies and Procedures
Monitors the pending queue in the LIS to ensure satisfactory turnaround times
Collects and maintains data for daily, weekly, and monthly quality control and quality assurance review
Ensures timely and quality performance of proficiency testing
Demonstrates an understanding of CLIA and CAP requirements for laboratory documentation and inspection readiness.
Organize samples/specimens, maintain inventory, and prepare buffers and reagents.
Communicates effectively with the technical supervisor and laboratory director on workflow, data quality, and regulatory issues.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological; OR
Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training
High complexity lab experience preferred, but not required
MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE IN A CLIA LABORATORY
Hospital Laboratory experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone
Must be able to communicate well via email

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Education:

Bachelor's (Preferred)
