Full Job Description

Job Summary

This is a permanent, part-time/contract position.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Bookkeeper to manage our financial records with precision and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and have experience working with various accounting software platforms. As a vital member of our team, the Bookkeeper will ensure accurate record-keeping, facilitate timely financial reporting, and support the organization’s financial health through diligent account management and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
Record journal entries, including debits and credits, ensuring adherence to double-entry bookkeeping standards.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to support accurate financial statements.
Assist with payroll, tax preparation, and compliance with governmental accounting requirements.
Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget analyses.
Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and account analysis when required.
Collaborate with other departments to facilitate budgeting, expense tracking, and financial planning initiatives.

Experience

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks DESKTOP.
Strong understanding of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices.
Experience with bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and account reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with payroll processing, tax regulations, and financial report writing.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis and maintain accuracy in high-volume data entry tasks (including 10 key typing).
Prior experience in public accounting or working within a professional finance environment is preferred.
Demonstrated capability in budgeting, financial concepts, technical accounting practices, and governmental compliance requirements.
