Position Overview
SweetCars is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. This position is ideal for a technician with a solid foundation in automotive repair who is looking to expand their skills while working on a wide variety of luxury, exotic, performance, classic, and specialty vehicles.
This role will primarily focus on inspecting, servicing, repairing, and reconditioning SweetCars inventory vehicles to prepare them for sale. The technician will also assist with customer-owned vehicle repairs and maintenance as shop workload requires. In addition, this position offers the opportunity to receive training on OGV Luxury Coach service and repair and to work on an increasing number of classic and collector vehicles, including those prepared for sale on Bring a Trailer.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair SweetCars inventory vehicles
- Perform maintenance, mechanical repairs, and reconditioning work to prepare vehicles for sale
- Diagnose and repair customer-owned vehicles as assigned
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs on customer vehicles
- Learn to service and repair OGV Luxury Coach vehicles through on-the-job training
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections and accurately document findings
- Communicate repair needs and recommendations to the Service & Detailing Advisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow manufacturer specifications and shop procedures
- Work collaboratively with fellow technicians and the Service team
Qualifications
- Professional automotive technician experience required
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
- Experience working on luxury, European, or performance vehicles is a plus
- Experience working on classic or collector vehicles is highly desirable
- Willingness to learn OGV Luxury Coach systems and repairs
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
