Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Patient Intake Coordinator to join our Oral Surgery team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they first call to schedule. Your energetic approach will help facilitate efficient patient registration, manage appointments, and support administrative functions that keep our practice running seamlessly. Duties

Manage incoming phone calls ensuring all necessary information is gathered to properly address the callers needs ensuring callers are directed to the correct department
Oversees and organizes outgoing/incoming patient referrals and updates ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and complete
Schedule patient treatment in accordance with doctors’ orders, office policy and scheduling protocols
Responsible for communicating information regarding provider schedules and on call rotations
Perform general office duties and other duties as required
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, personal data, and medical history, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with healthcare providers to optimize daily patient flow
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with health regulation policies and privacy laws
Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and updating electronic health records (EHR)
Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment reminders, follow-up instructions, and insurance requirements
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Prior experience in a Dental office or healthcare setting preferred, with strong knowledge of Dental terminology and Dental regulation policies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for documentation and communication purposes
Familiarity with patient management software, EMR/EHR systems, and electronic health records management
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally and empathetically
Knowledge of dental insurance processes and billing procedures to assist patients effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to type accurately and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with privacy standards
