Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Residential Care Facility Caregiver/Assistant House Manager Supports, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to residents with diverse needs. This energetic position involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and supporting the overall operation of the care home. You will be a key supporter in creating a warm, safe, and engaging environment that promotes independence and dignity for all residents. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring long-term care and support.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and documentation procedures
Provide compassionate dementia and Alzheimer's care, implementing memory care strategies to enhance quality of life
Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
Engage residents in social activities, group outings, and recreational programs to promote socialization and mental stimulation
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas in accordance with health standards
Communicate effectively with residents’ families and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and updates
Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and safe patient lifting practices
Support the operation of the facility by assisting with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and transportation as needed

Skills

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly desirable
Strong understanding of dementia, memory care, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive disabilities
Proficiency in vital signs measurement, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics is preferred
Skilled in manual handling techniques including safe patient lifting practices and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
Excellent communication skills for engaging clients effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy
Capable of heavy lifting and physical activity required for resident transfers or facility maintenance tasks
