SolidWorks / CAD Designer | Manufacturing | Portland, TN

All-Star Personnel is seeking a SolidWorks / CAD Designer for an innovative and growing manufacturing company in Portland, Tennessee. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that values creativity, precision, and innovation while working on products that move from concept to production.

We're looking for a detail-oriented designer who enjoys transforming ideas into manufacturable designs. If you're experienced with SolidWorks, enjoy collaborating with engineers and production teams, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to speak with you.

What You'll Do

As a SolidWorks / CAD Designer, you'll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to create detailed designs that support new products and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
Design parts, assemblies, weldments, fixtures, tooling, and production equipment.
Revise and maintain engineering drawings and CAD documentation.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to improve product designs for manufacturability (DFM).
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly documentation.
Work with Production and Quality teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Assist with prototype development and product testing.
Ensure drawings comply with company and industry drafting standards, including GD&T.
Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision history.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce manufacturing costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks is required.
Strong knowledge of mechanical drafting principles and GD&T.
Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and assembly models.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Experience with sheet metal, fabricated components, machined parts, and assemblies preferred.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
