Full Job Description

The Center Director provides day-to-day leadership and support to ensure smooth, consistent, and high-quality school operations. This role also collaborates closely with the Executive Director and CFO to ensure that all business systems operate in alignment with the school’s Vision, Mission, and Goal Areas.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily leadership and supervision of staff and center operations
Ensure compliance with DCDEE Licensing standards and maintain at least 95% compliance
Maintain Environmental Health and Safety standards at a superior level
Oversee classroom quality using Environmental Rating Scale (ERS) standards (goal of 5.5–6.5)
Support and monitor curriculum implementation and child development outcomes
Maintain strong communication with staff, families, and community partners
Support administrative operations including staffing, enrollment, compliance, and documentation
Assist with financial oversight and business processes in coordination with leadership

Qualifications

NC Level III Administrative Credential (required)
Strong knowledge of DCDEE Licensing regulations
Experience with Environmental Rating Scales (ERS)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in early childhood settings
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience using child care management software/apps and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work collaboratively with children, staff, families, and community partners
Dependable, flexible, and goal-oriented
