Full Job Description

Microwave Engineering Corporation (MEC) is a well-established, privately owned company in the defense electronics industry. We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our precision machine shop and machine complex, low-volume custom components.

This position is ideal for a machinist who values craftsmanship, quality, and technical challenge. This positions is eligible for a significant amount of overtime.

Job Details

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23 - $36/hour
Schedule: Day shift
Experience Level: 1+ years CNC milling (additional experience preferred)
Education: High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or equivalent machine shop experience
Requirement: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder)

Responsibilities

Set up and operate Haas CNC milling machines
Machine precision, low-volume custom parts to engineering drawings
Select tooling, set work offsets, and verify setups
Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments
Maintain quality standards and shop documentation
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Collaborate with engineering and shop personnel as needed

Qualifications

CNC milling experience with setup and operation
Strong blueprint reading skills
Experience machining tight-tolerance components
Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality
Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Good communication skills
