BlueBird, CPAs is seeking a Staff Auditor to join our team. This entry-level position focuses exclusively on Internal Audits and Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUPs). As a Staff Auditor, you will perform independent audits for our clients to evaluate compliance with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Candidates must be comfortable with extensive travel (approximately 80-90%) to the client’s place of business. Typical weekly travel occurs Monday through Thursday, with occasional Friday travel as needed.
Client engagements are located throughout the United States including, but not limited to: Washington, California, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and Michigan.
BlueBird, CPAs books all business travel including flights, rentals, and lodging. Employees are reimbursed for eligible travel expenses such as meals, mileage, and fuel.
When not traveling, work will be conducted remotely. This may include preparing workpapers, drafting audit reports and supporting the engagement teams. No relocation for this role is required.
BlueBird, CPAs hosts Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses, firm training, and semi-annual performance reviews. During these events, employees are flown to our Reno, NV office for an on-site visit.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Detailed understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as general computer proficiency.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel on a weekly, or near weekly basis.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and document internal audits and agreed-upon procedures engagements in accordance with the annual plan.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and governance processes.
- Review financial, operational, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify control deficiencies and areas of potential risk.
- Prepare clear, concise reports that summarize the results of procedures performed.
- Present findings and recommendations (if applicable) to management and monitor the implementation of corrective action plans.
- Perform follow-up on prior-period findings to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
- Support external auditors and regulatory examinations by providing requested documentation and information.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and operational information.
- Stay current on changes in accounting standards, auditing practices, regulations, and industry best practices.
