Full Job Description

Lumiere Patisserie & Cafe is a new artisan patisserie and cafe opening September 2026 in Leander, TX - cakes, pastries, custom orders, and a full cafe, crafted in-house daily. We are hiring our founding team.

The Role

Work alongside our Lead Baker every weekday, helping produce the week's supply of cakes, pastries, fillings, and components. Great fit for someone with some kitchen or baking experience who follows direction well, works carefully, and wants to grow in a real production environment.

Schedule: Full-Time (~40 hrs), On-site, Mon-Fri ~8am-4pm, Weekends off

What You'll Do

- Mix, scale, bake, and fill alongside the Lead Baker on weekday production days

- Help batch and prepare components so daily case items and custom orders are ready on schedule

- Assist with assembling and finishing desserts for the display case under the Lead Baker’s guidance

- Help with cake finishing and decorating as you develop - piping, glazing, and assembly under the Lead Baker’s guidance

- Prep ingredients and follow our recipes and SOPs

- Monitor bake times, temperatures, and product appearance for consistency

- Rotate and stock ingredients, checking quality and freshness

- Maintain organized storage and proper rotation of ingredients, fillings, and components according to FIFO and quality standards

- Clean as you go during production, including washing tools, bowls, pans, and small equipment used during your shift, and help maintain overall bakery cleanliness

- Complete basic production logs and waste tracking

- Flag equipment or supply issues to the Lead Baker early

- Support end-of-day production wrap-up and prepare items needed for the next production day

- Clean and restock workstations, sanitize equipment so it’s ready for the next shift, and complete opening/closing checklists and the weekly cleaning chart

What You Bring

- 2+ years hands-on kitchen, baking, prep, or food-production experience preferred

- Must be 18 or older

- Follows spoken and written instructions carefully; asks when unsure

- Reliable, organized, punctual, dependable, and team-first

- Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused and multitask in a production environment

- Able to communicate clearly with the Lead Baker and the rest of the team

- Texas Food Handler card (or ability to get one before starting)

- Able to stand and move for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work comfortably around hot ovens, with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Have

Batch or high-volume production experience, pastry, cakes, or bread. An interest in cake decorating is a plus - we'll train you.
