Full Job Description

Hotel Management Group, LLC is seeking a Front Office Manager for our Residence Inn Gilbert San Tan in Gilbert AZ.

HMG is an up-and-coming hotel management company that has already made its mark with developing and leading award-winning hotels. The hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Hotel Management Group. The franchise controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices.

Job Summary

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As a Front Desk Agent, you’ll not only be the person they rely on to handle transactions, offer local insights and anticipate every detail of a problem-free experience. You’ll also create the warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home.

The Front Desk Team is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience, executing brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community.

At Residence Inn Gilbert San Tan, we look for people who are welcoming and can focus on the things that really matter to our guests – and get them right every time.

We are looking for a strong leader who is accustomed to setting and following structure and protocols to ensure our team and guests get the experience they are expecting. A leader who is hands on, detail oriented and focuses on engagement of the team and the guest. You must have strong communication between all departments and understand the importance of consistent and enthusiastic leadership that motivates and encourages associates to do their best.

Guest experience

Be the warm welcome that starts a memorable guest experience

Acknowledge Rewards Club members and ensure rewards initiatives and enrollments are being adhered to

Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities along with adding insightful information that could enhance their stay with us

Handle cash and credit transactions

Ensure efficiency while checking guests in and out in a friendly and receptive manner

Problem solve guest concerns and resolve them in a timely manner

Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs. Pay attention and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concerns promptly

Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and communicate with management when necessary

Stay safe all the time. Following our safety procedures

Communicate with other departments when needed

Take pride in your appearance and work area

Always know what events and activities are happening daily and, in the future, in the area

Enter rooming lists and assist other departments when needed

Creating warm and welcoming relationships with our guests, team and vendors

Helping with market stocking and cleanliness

Be a team player and follow our culture to ensure everyone has an enjoyable stay with us

Management Role

Have a flexible schedule that can cover all shifts, should someone call out

Have a fun, infectious, positive personality

Be creative in keeping the staff motivated and accountable

Be able to work with computer programs

Have an understanding of all departments and assist when needed

Know how to complete a schedule and ensure it is being followed

Watch inventory and make adjustments as needed

Handle guest and associate concerns

This job requires ability to perform the following:

Frequently standing up behind the desk and front office areas for 8 hours
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
Handling objects, products and computer equipment
Basic computer skills to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.
Being passionate about people and service
Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and associates
Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used
Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
Must have enthusiasm, professionalism and attention to detail
Must be able to work all shifts, as needed. Flexible schedule is needed to meet hotel demands.
