Senior Staff Accountant

Hybrid | 2+ Days/Week In-Office | Full-Time

Tech Valley Talent is an established, woman-owned IT staffing agency that specializes in high-volume government contracts. We serve agencies around the country and are currently in growth mode. We are looking for a high-level Senior Staff Accountant or Controller to support our leadership team and the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced organization. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5 years of experience in the role with a multimillion-dollar mid-sized organization.

What You’ll Do

Controller Responsibilities

· Cash flow analysis

· Profitability forecasting

· Monthly and quarterly contract reporting (EEO, Sales)

· Serve as a backup to HR

· Form Bs- (Annual state reporting)

· Price modeling for bids

· Project tracking to ensure project profitability

· Oversee the payroll process

· Risk management

· Work closely with finance personnel to maintain and update the billing sheet with staff hours, rates, expenses, and other related information for processing of monthly billing.

General Accounting Responsibilities

· Inputting data and invoicing into QB

· Manage A/P and A/R

· Process subcontractor runs for leadership approval

· Prepare and submit invoices to clients

· Gather and enter timesheets for monthly billing and verify expense information for consultants.

· Verify subcontractor invoices against timesheets for accuracy. Requests remediation as necessary.

· Understand client portals and how money flows, and look for ways to improve it.

· Product quotes for clients

Must-Have Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

· 5+ years in a fast-paced Controller or Senior Staff Accounting role supporting leadership

· 2-3 strong employment references from direct supervisors

Extremely strong expertise with MS Office 365 and a wide range of technology platforms, applications, and software.

· 2+ years of payroll experience

· Expert-level Excel skills

· AI experience

· QuickBooks Online proficiency

· ADP experience

· MS 365

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

· Professional communication skills (email, phone, internal coordination)

· High attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive information (HR/payroll/finance)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

· Experience supporting government contract work

· Experience in the recruiting or staffing industry

· Notary Certificate

· Bachelor’s degree
