is $46.05-$50,77 (DOQ),

Brief Description As a valued member of the Engineering Div. team, you will play a key roie in ensuring

of Duties: the safety, code compliance, and qua!ity of construction & deveiopment in the Village
through thorough and comprehensive review of civil engineering plans and
specifications to ensure strict adherence to Village zoning regulations, engineering
standards, and environmentai regulations; Under general supervision, this roie also
provides professional, customer-focused support to developers, contractors, and the
public, collaborates with internal departments and promotes sustainable building
practices to support the Vi!iage's long-term environmental and development goals;
Conducts the plan review and inspections of site improvements for private
development and associated work in the right-of-way (ROW) in conjunction with
planning, zoning, building, and engineering processes; Coordinates pian review
processes with internal departments (e.g. Fire, Planning, and Building), and provides
clear written and verbal feedback to applicants, design professionals, and contractors
regarding code compliance, deficiencies, and necessary revisions; Performs other
work-related duties, as assigned,

Required Training and Valid Driver's License; Minimum 5 years of experience in plan review, building
KnowiedQe: inspection, or related fie!d; Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering,

Construction Management, or a related field preferred; Working knowledge of the
Internationai Mechanicai Code (IMC), Internationat Plumbing Code (!PC), and other
!CC codes; Engineer-in-Training (E!T) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
preferred; Proficiency with permitting and plan review software (e,g, BS&A, BSuebeam)
Familiarity with civit/site plan elements including grading, stormwater management,
utilities, energy codes/sustainabiiity, and ADA accessibility; Strong communication
ski!!s and attention to detail required; Ability to interpret and apply complex codes and
regulations; Must follow ail safety rules of the Village,

JOB IDENTIFICATION

Position Title: Civil Plan Reviewer

Salary Range: A 240

Division: Engineering

Reports To: Senior Engineer

Supervises: None

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the safety, code compliance, and quality of construction and development in
the Village through thorough and comprehensive review of civit engineering plans and
specifications to ensure strict adherence to applicabie building codes, zoning ordinances,
engineering standards, and environmental regulations. This role also provides
professionai, customer-focused support to developers, contractors, and the pubiic,
coiiaborates with internai departments and promotes sustainabie buiiding practices to
support the Village's long-term environmental and deveiopment goais.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

« Review architectural and civil engineering plans for commerciai and multi-famiiy
residential for compliance with iocal ordinances, zoning regulations, and engineering
standards;

Conducts the plan review and inspections of site improvements for private deveiopment

and associated work in the right-of-way (ROW) in conjunction with planning, zoning,
building and engineering processes;

Coordinate plan review processes with internal departments (e.g. Fire, Planning, and

Buiiding);

e Provide clear written and verbal feedback to applicants, design professionals, and
contractors regarding code compliance, deficiencies, and necessary revisions;

® Manage and administer ROW utility permit program;

Review and inspect private stormwater management;

» Assist in the issuance of permits by verifying plan compliance and reviewing required
documentation;

Coordinates directly with property owners to implement solutions under the Residential

Yard Drainage Assistance Program;

Perform site visits for new residential buildings or additions, inciuding general site grading,

drainage, and field inspections to verify compliance and assess complex design
conditions;

Coordinate with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District for permits and final inspections;

® Reviewing deveiopment pians through the Prefiminary P!an Review (PPR) and Site Pian
review process;

Uses the Village's permit and inspection tracking software to document permits,

inspections and updates as needed;

Participate in pre-submitta! and pre-construction meetings, as necessary;

Ensure compliance with State and County regulations;

Performs other work-related duties, as assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

< Respond to inquiries from the public, developers, and contractors regarding plan
requirements, codes, and procedures;

» Stay current on changes to relevant codes and industry best practices;

» Assist in the development or refinement of internal review procedures, checkiists, and
policy updates;

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of experience sn plan review, building inspection, or related field;

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a

related field, preferred;

» Working knowledge of the International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing
Code (IPC), and other ICC codes;

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The work functions of this position are representative of medium work exerting up to 50
pounds of force occasionaliy, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10
pounds of force constantly to move objects. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, knee! or
crouch. Reguiariy required to drive. Must have adequate hearing to communicate with
