Key Responsibilities

Tax Strategy, Production & Review

High-Level Return Review: Execute the final, comprehensive review of individual (1040s) and business returns, ensuring precision, compliance, and firm standards before they head out the door.
Complex Tax Preparation: Build rock-solid workpapers and tackle complex business tax returns for S-Corporations, Partnerships, C-Corporations, Estates, Trusts, and Nonprofit entities.
Proactive Advisory & Strategy: Collaborate with clients for tax-saving opportunities, game-changing entity structures, and wealth-preservation solutions for our small-to-medium business owners. We don't just record financial history; we help clients actively shape it.
Compliance Defense: Navigate IRS and state tax notices, manage audits, and handle compliance headaches with confidence so our clients don’t have to.

Accounting & Department Management

Workflow Orchestration: Partner with firm leadership to keep the accounting engine running smoothly—managing project timelines, meeting deadlines, and maintaining our modern quality standards.
Talent Accelerator: Mentor and level up a diverse team. You will turn review notes into valuable teaching moments for everyone from our eager entry-level bookkeepers and interns to our newly integrated, experienced staff accountants.
Tax-Ready Oversight: Oversee year-end book cleanups, ensuring our bookkeeping team's adjustments and workpapers are flawless and perfectly prepared for tax filing.
Process Evolution: Collaborate directly with partners to integrate our newly acquired practice, streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and maximize our cloud and AI tech stack.

Client Communication & Experience

Relationship Builder: Serve as a primary, trusted point of contact, bringing genuine care, clear communication, and high energy to every client relationship.
The Financial Translator: Translate complex tax strategies and intricate accounting concepts into clear, actionable advice that business owners actually understand and can use.
Seamless Filing Support: Guide clients through the filing process with clarity, transparency, making sure they feel valued and well-supported.
System Integrity: Keep our advanced cloud environments up to date by thoroughly documenting client interactions, tax decisions, and strategic research.

Position Requirements

Experience & Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-6 years of recent public accounting experience with a strong, hands-on mix of business and individual taxation. Proven track record of supervising staff or directly managing client engagements.
CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential (or making serious, active progress toward it).

Technical & Power Skills

Small Business Guru: A deep love for small business accounting, Client Accounting Services (CAS), and navigating complex tax compliance.
Tech-Forward Mindset: Complete comfort working in advanced, cloud-based environments. Deep familiarity with mainstream tax platforms (UltraTax) and QuickBooks Online is essential—and an eagerness to leverage AI tools to automate the boring stuff is a massive plus.
Collaborative Leadership: A team-first mentality with exceptional communication skills. You can coach a junior team member and advise a seasoned business owner with equal ease.
Analytical Hustle: Exceptional attention to detail combined with a problem-solving, client-focused mindset. You have the strong organizational skills required to balance multiple client files and strict deadlines simultaneously.
