Sierra Office Supply & Printing is a well-established California company providing office products, commercial printing, mailing services, signage, and business solutions to customers throughout the region. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team.

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing daily deposits and payments, maintaining accurate accounts receivable records, and assisting with collections while providing excellent customer service. This position plays a vital role in maintaining positive customer relationships and supporting the company's cash flow.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Process daily cash, check, ACH, and credit card deposits.
Apply customer payments accurately to outstanding invoices.
Monitor customer accounts and aging reports.
Contact customers regarding past-due balances and resolve payment issues professionally.
Submit invoices and supporting documentation to customers.
Respond to customer billing inquiries via phone and email.
Maintain accurate customer account information.
Process credit card transactions and customer payments.
Prepare deposits and reconcile payment activity.
Code tax-exempt documentation and maintain appropriate records.
Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Management to resolve account discrepancies.
Generate reports related to accounts receivable activity.
Welcome and assist customers visiting the front office as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3+ years of Accounts Receivable or general accounting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with collections while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Experience in the printing, manufacturing, distribution, or office products industry is a plus.
Experience processing ACH, credit card, and electronic payments.
Familiarity with aging reports and account reconciliations.
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts receivable management and collections account management
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
Understanding of GAAP standards and SOX compliance requirements for financial reporting controls
Ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconciliation efficiently with high accuracy
Strong math skills including 10 key typing speed for efficient data entry and processing
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette for client communication
Experience working in public accounting or technical accounting environments is a plus
Effective analysis skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or trends

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
