Blue Ocean Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Fort Collins, CO. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced atmosphere where you will be exposed to work on accounting matters for a full portfolio of businesses.

Job Summary

Blue Ocean Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant – Treasury & Corporate Accounting to join its finance team in Fort Collins, CO. This role serves as a key member of the accounting and treasury function, supporting a complex portfolio of operating companies, real estate entities, investment entities, trusts, and family office operations.

The position combines traditional accounting responsibilities with significant treasury management responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller and will assume many treasury functions currently performed within the department, including managing bank activity, monitoring liquidity, processing and reviewing daily cash transfers, maintaining loan and banking documentation, and supporting investment account administration.

This position operates in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. While many responsibilities are recurring and structured, much of the workday involves responding to real-time business needs, cash movements, funding requests, banking activities, and special projects. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.

Treasury Management:

Monitor and manage daily cash activity across a large portfolio of entities and bank accounts.
Coordinate, initiate, review, and document daily cash transfers and intercompany funding activity.
Maintain banking relationships and serve as a primary contact for routine banking matters.
Assist with opening, closing, and maintaining bank, brokerage, and investment accounts.
Monitor cash balances and liquidity needs across entities and assist with short-term cash planning.
Maintain debt schedules, loans, lines of credit, and treasury-related obligations.
Track loan compliance, interest payments, maturity dates, and reporting obligations.
Organize and maintain treasury records, loan agreements, banking resolutions, and related documentation.
Assist with investment account reporting, cash activity reconciliation, and related accounting entries.
Support treasury process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal controls.

Accounting Responsibilities:

Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow reporting, for senior management.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts with particular emphasis on cash, investments, debt, and intercompany accounts.
Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities.
Produce tax preparation packages for outside CPA firms.
Assist with audits and requests from external accountants, banks, and other third parties.
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting and treasury procedures.
Collaborate with accounting, legal, tax, investment, real estate, and operational teams.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Proven ability to manage high volumes of financial information with minimal errors.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, confidentiality, and accountability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a workload that is approximately 60% unstructured, requiring independent prioritization and sound judgment.
Comfortable coordinating multiple requests, transactions, and projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial, banking, investment, and personal information with discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems strongly preferred.

Experience Preferred:

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Experience working with treasury operations, cash management, banking relationships, or corporate finance activities.
Experience managing numerous bank accounts and a multi-tiered structure including intercompany transactions.
Familiarity with investment accounting and reporting.
Experience reviewing and maintaining loan agreements and debt schedules.
Family office, wealth management, real estate investment, private investment, or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred.
Public accounting experience preferred.
CPA designation preferred.

$87,500.00 to $95,000.00 per year.
