Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a vibrant, efficient, and safe food environment. In this role, you will support the preparation and presentation of delicious meals, uphold food safety standards, and assist with kitchen operations to ensure a seamless dining experience. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute to a lively kitchen atmosphere that values quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks including slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
Support meal preparation and food production activities to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Operate food handling equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to safety standards in production.
Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly.
Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are maintained at all times.
Support serving activities by preparing ingredients for dishes and assisting kitchen staff during busy periods.
Contribute to sensory evaluation processes to ensure dishes meet quality standards before serving.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; culinary or kitchen experience is highly valued.
Demonstrated basic knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient food prep.
Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely.
Familiarity with food preparation equipment operation is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail in food presentation, cleanliness, and safety practices.
Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset.
Basic math skills for portioning and ingredient measurement are beneficial.
