Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a PRN basis in Brownsville. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with experience across various healthcare settings. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in supporting patients’ needs through direct care activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while adhering to all safety and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
Support patients with medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation of all care activities.
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguard sensitive medical information.
Assist with patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer equipment to ensure safety.
Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the supervising healthcare team promptly.
Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health record (EHR) systems or medical documentation tools.

Experience

Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant or in similar caregiving roles within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or home health environments.
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (CPR) certification preferred.
Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience working in acute care settings such as ICU or trauma centers is advantageous but not required.
