Excel Neurosurgery & Spine is a leading neurosurgical and spine practice committed to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge care to patients across Hawaii. We specialize in minimally invasive spine procedures and comprehensive neurosurgical services in a patient-centered environment. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and facilitate surgical procedures for our providers. This role is vital to ensuring a smooth experience for both patients and surgical teams, requiring excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a patient-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule surgical cases across multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
Coordinate pre-operative appointments, imaging, labs, and clearances
Obtain prior authorizations and ensure insurance requirements are met
Assist with entering treatment plans into the EMR system and ensuring follow-through on next steps (e.g. imaging, therapy, injections, or surgery
Communicate with patients regarding surgical instructions and expectations
Work closely with surgeons, medical assistants, billing staff, and external facilities
Track surgery cases and follow up on pending items
Maintain accurate records in the EMR system

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in medical scheduling, preferably in a surgical or specialty practice
Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes
Familiarity with EMR systems (Elation preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Professional, team-oriented, and reliable
