Aircraft Sheet Metal Tech III Technician Job Summary:
The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician III is responsible for following instructions given by the Production Manager to execute all sheet metal builds successfully. This will include efficiently designing and manufacturing components and systems that are safe, innovative, and of high quality. The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician III will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that the expectations of the

Company’s customers are exceeded by performing the following:
Aircraft Sheet Metal Tech III Responsibilities:

Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Operate machines such as drill presses, shears, Table saw, bandsaw and measuring tools such as scales and calipers.
Can identify various types of aluminum alloys, tempers and thicknesses.
Use hands and power tools to shape and smooth aluminum and steel.
Capable of reading and understanding decimal scales and use of scales, protractors, and calipers.
Maintain documentation such as work orders and parts tags
Able to layout cut lines, bend lines and hole locations for hardware installations
Experience in the proper Drilling, (proper hole sizes) Countersinking, for the
installation of various rivets and hardware fasteners.
Must be able to learn quickly and work in team environment.

Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician III Required Knowledge & Experience:

Written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Five years related manufacturing and/or installation experience
Minimum Four years related aerospace manufacturing and/or installation experience.
KA experience in the role, considered expert in the position.
Direct the day-to-day work for a small team, provide support and guidance, ensure product and/or process quality and conformance.
Mentor in the position, trains other technicians on correct use of tools and complex processes
Possesses a toolbox and experience proper use of Air Drills, Rivet guns, Routers, Cleco pliers, Cleco’s, Microstop Countersinks, Rivet squeezers, pencil grinders.
High school diploma/GED

Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead while performing assembly and installation tasks.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
Ability to use hands for repetitive motions, including gripping, grasping, pinching, drilling, riveting, cutting, sanding, and operating hand and power tools.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform precision sheet metal fabrication and installation.
Ability to distinguish colors and visually inspect parts for quality, measurements, alignment, defects, and compliance with specifications. Corrected vision acceptable if it meets job requirements.
Ability to read small print, blueprints, work instructions, measuring scales, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders, platforms, scaffolding, or elevated work areas when required.
Ability to tolerate exposure to manufacturing conditions including moderate noise, dust, metal shavings, vibration, and varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe footwear, respirators (when required), and other protective equipment.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and shop machinery on a regular basis.
