Full Job Description

Overview

Join our boutique property management team as an Assistant Property Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of residential communities. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to support property leasing, maintenance coordination, tenant relations, and administrative functions. You will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with fair housing laws and property management standards. Responsibilities

Assist in managing lease or rental agreement processes, including application screening, lease signing, and renewals to maximize occupancy and revenue.
Support property leasing activities by engaging with prospective tenants, conducting tours, and upselling available units to meet occupancy goals.
Coordinate property maintenance requests, track work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Maintain accurate data entry, filing, and record-keeping for tenant files, legal documents, and property records in Yardi or OneSite property management software.
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and Section 8 programs through diligent documentation and legal administrative experience.
Handle conflict management with tenants or vendors professionally, employing negotiation skills to resolve issues amicably while upholding company policies.
Support office operations by managing phone etiquette, customer relationship management (CRM), and administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report preparation.

Requirements

Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with familiarity using Yardi or OneSite software.
Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, and contracts management.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict situations effectively through negotiation and professionalism.
Office experience including data entry, filing systems, phone etiquette, and facilities management is essential.
Demonstrated ability to manage lease or rental agreements accurately while maintaining compliance with legal standards.
Experience working within a property management company environment or in property leasing is highly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in legal administrative tasks such as filing and record keeping.
