PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: To drive HSNY vehicles to a variety of places including apartment viewings and other occasions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely and timely drive your passengers to meetings, special events, other occasions.
- Pick up mail or paychecks and deliver to various locations, occasionally run errands.
- Ensure that the car is clean
- Consider different routes, check climate, and traffic reports to decide the best time to travel and the best route to take
- Safely keep receipts for gas, vehicle repairs, maintenance and other records/reports concerning the employer’s car.
- Maintain vehicle (gas, mileage tracking, oil changes, take in for repairs as needed)
- Keep a travel log to record locations traveled to, travel time and work hours
- Carry out other assignments that may be given by the employer
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record necessary (to be validated by background check
EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of personal driving experience
EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Professional driving, shuttle, or chauffeur/ limousine experience preferred
- Punctual, reliable & responsible
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Be able to multitask, and work well under pressure
POSITION SCOPE: Employee is responsible for transporting passengers or cargo safely to the destination given.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Independently works through routine problems, determining solutions from established standards or procedures.
KNOWLEDGE: Duties require a thorough understanding of how to operate a GPS or read a road map.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Makes routine low-cost expenditures, as designated by supervisor.
CONTACTS: Works primarily with staff within own program. External contacts are infrequent and limited in scope. Has regular contact with Senior Case Manager, DSS and other staff to exchange information. .
SUPERVISION: Occasionally instructs or assists other employees. Sometimes delegates work assignments to others as directed by supervisor.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel locally using public transportation. Required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word well. Required on a regular basis to be prepared to utilize appropriate techniques to ensure consumers’ safety. Required to utilize near vision to read data and other documents including spreadsheets and reports in printed form or on computer screens. Regularly required to move fingers, wrist and arms in a repetitive manner to operate office equipment.
