Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will manage the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, supplies, and services essential to our operations. Your expertise will ensure optimal inventory levels, cost-effective procurement strategies, and strong vendor relationships. By leveraging advanced ERP systems and supply chain management tools, you will contribute to streamlined operations and continuous improvement across our supply chain processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive efficiency, support production planning, and enhance vendor partnerships in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement processes using SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and other purchasing management systems.
Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements that align with company goals.
Utilize spreadsheets and Excel data analysis to monitor inventory levels, analyze purchasing trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining optimal inventory control.
Support sourcing activities by evaluating supplier performance and identifying new vendors to improve supply chain resilience.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor communications within ERP systems like Materials Management modules.
Conduct regular inventory management reviews to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages or excesses.
Assist in production planning by aligning procurement schedules with manufacturing timelines and demand forecasts.
Foster strong vendor relationships through effective communication and vendor relationship management practices.
Support supply chain management initiatives by analyzing pricing strategies and contributing to logistics optimization efforts.

Experience

Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within manufacturing or distribution environments.
Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with materials management, inventory control, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and logistics operations.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including sourcing, vendor negotiation, and procurement strategies.
Experience working with purchasing management systems (technically supported) and accounting software is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to analyze Excel data for decision-making purposes and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills for vendor negotiations and cross-departmental collaboration.
