Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Customer Service Manager to lead our customer service and call center operations for a growing environmental services company. This position will oversee daily call center activities, manage customer service queues, coach and develop representatives, and drive both customer satisfaction and revenue growth through effective sales and upselling strategies.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong experience managing high-volume customer service environments, call queues, performance metrics, and sales-focused customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily customer service and call center operations, ensuring calls, emails, service requests, and customer inquiries are handled efficiently and professionally.
Monitor and manage inbound call queues, staffing levels, call volume, response times, abandonment rates, and service levels.
Develop schedules and workflows to optimize team coverage and minimize customer wait times.
Oversee the customer appointment calendar and coordinate daily field activities to maximize technician utilization, productivity, and route efficiency.
Optimize technician schedules by balancing customer demand, service priorities, geographic routing, appointment availability, and technician capacity.
Hire, train, coach, and develop customer service representatives to achieve performance, quality, and revenue goals.
Establish and monitor KPIs including customer satisfaction, first-call resolution, average handle time, conversion rates, retention, and sales performance.
Create a customer-focused culture that balances exceptional service with company revenue objectives.
Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell environmental services and other solutions based on customer needs.
Develop sales scripts, call strategies, and coaching programs designed to increase conversion and revenue.
Review call recordings and performance reports to identify coaching opportunities and improve customer interactions.
Partner with Sales, Operations, and Field Service teams to resolve customer issues and improve the overall customer experience.
Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure timely, professional resolution.
Analyze call center trends and customer feedback to identify process improvements and opportunities to increase retention.
Implement procedures and technology improvements that increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
Prepare regular performance reports and communicate results, challenges, and recommendations to senior management.
Ensure team members consistently follow company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience in customer service or call center management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
Proven experience managing call queues, staffing, service levels, and call center KPIs.
Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and motivating customer service teams.
Strong sales, upselling, and cross-selling experience with a track record of improving revenue or conversion rates.
Experience working with CRM, call center, and workforce management systems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and performance metrics to make decisions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize competing demands.
Experience in environmental services, pest control, waste management, facilities services, home services, or another recurring-service industry is a plus.
