We Are Looking for a Fabrication Superstar
We are looking for an experienced Lead Sign Fabricator / Installer who knows how to build signs—not someone who needs to be shown every step.
This position is for the person other fabricators come to when they cannot figure out how to build something.
You should be able to look at a rendering, shop drawing, architectural plan, sign proof, or finished design and determine how to fabricate, wire, finish, and install the sign correctly and safely without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
We manufacture a wide variety of commercial signage, so we need someone with broad, hands-on sign industry experience. You must be comfortable taking ownership of a project from fabrication through installation and producing work that you are proud to put your name on.
This is approximately 70% fabrication and 30% installation.
If your experience is primarily installing signs that someone else fabricated, this is probably not the right position. We need someone who can build them.
What You Will Fabricate
Our projects include:
- Illuminated channel letters
- Raceway-mounted channel letters
- Custom sign cabinets and light boxes
- Monument signs
- Pylon signage
- LED retrofits and electrical sign repairs
- Dimensional letters and logos
- ACM and aluminum fabricated signs
- Interior architectural and wayfinding signage
- ADA signage
- Vinyl and digitally printed graphics
- Custom one-off fabricated signage
- Other commercial interior and exterior signage
You should be comfortable moving between standard production work and custom projects that require you to figure out the best way to build them.
This Is a Hands-On Fabrication Position
You must have real sign fabrication experience.
We are specifically looking for someone who can independently:
- Fabricate aluminum sign cabinets and light boxes
- Fabricate components for monument and pylon signs
- Weld aluminum and other materials used in commercial sign construction
- Build channel letters and raceways
- Perform accurate measuring, cutting, drilling, fastening, assembly, and finishing
- Lay out and fabricate custom signs from drawings and specifications
- Determine appropriate fabrication methods when a drawing does not provide every detail
- Diagnose fabrication problems before they become field problems
- Produce professional-quality fit and finish
You must understand that "good enough" is not our quality standard.
We expect someone who takes personal ownership of welds, seams, fit, finish, paint, wiring, illumination, alignment, installation, and the final appearance of the product.
Electrical Sign Experience
Strong electrical sign experience is required.
You should be capable of independently working with:
- LED modules and illumination systems
- Power supplies
- Channel-letter wiring
- Sign cabinets
- Raceways
- Disconnects
- Electrical troubleshooting
- LED retrofits
- Electrical components used in commercial sign manufacturing and installation
An active Texas Journeyman Sign Electrician license is strongly preferred.
We will consider an exceptional senior sign fabricator with extensive electrical sign experience who previously held the appropriate license and is able to renew or reactivate it.
An active Texas Master Sign Electrician license is highly preferred, and a signing bonus is available for the right candidate with an active Master Sign Electrician license.
Installation Experience
Although fabrication is the primary responsibility, you must also be an experienced sign installer.
You should be comfortable installing commercial signs using:
- Bucket trucks
- Boom lifts
- Scissor lifts
- Cranes
- Ladders
- Trailers
- Forklifts
- Typical sign-installation equipment and rigging
You must be comfortable working at heights and understand safe commercial sign-installation practices.
A clean driving record and valid driver's license are required.
This position is based in Houston and primarily serves the Houston market. There is no routine overnight or national travel requirement.

You should be capable of independently working with or quickly becoming proficient with equipment including:
- CNC router
- Flatbed printer
- Vinyl plotter
- Saws
- Brake and shear
- Welding equipment
- Drills and fabrication equipment
- Hand and power tools
- Forklifts
- Bucket trucks
- Scissor lifts
- Boom lifts
- Cranes and installation equipment
You do not need to be the world's best operator of every machine on day one, but you should be mechanically inclined enough that learning a piece of sign-production equipment does not intimidate you.
Leadership Is Part of the Job
We are not looking only for a good individual fabricator.
We want someone capable of becoming a technical leader in the shop.
You should be comfortable:
- Leading less-experienced fabricators and installers
- Showing other team members the correct way to build a sign
- Assigning and coordinating fabrication work when necessary
- Checking work before it leaves the shop
- Identifying quality problems and correcting them
- Teaching fabrication and installation techniques
- Helping improve the way our shop builds signs
- Taking ownership when something needs to get done
You do not need someone standing over you telling you what to do next.
We Want Someone Who Thinks
One of the most important qualifications for this position is problem-solving ability.
Sometimes the drawing will not tell you exactly how something should be built.
Sometimes the proposed fabrication method will not work.
Sometimes what looks good on a computer screen will create a problem during fabrication or installation.
We expect you to recognize those issues, speak up, develop a better solution, and help get the project built correctly.
We want someone who can say:
"That isn't going to work the way it is drawn. Here's how we should build it instead."
Then be capable of actually building it.

We care more about demonstrated ability than an arbitrary number of years in the industry.
The ideal candidate has senior-level commercial sign experience and can demonstrate the ability to independently fabricate and install the types of signs described above.

This is not an entry-level position.
If your experience is mainly banners, vinyl application, basic assembly, or assisting other fabricators, this position is not a good fit.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to perform the normal physical requirements of commercial sign fabrication and installation, including:
- Working on their feet for extended periods
- Working indoors and outdoors
- Working at heights
- Climbing ladders and accessing lifts
- Lifting and carrying materials and sign components
- Handling power tools and fabrication equipment
- Assisting with lifting, positioning, and installing commercial signs
- Working safely around electrical and fabrication equipment
Compensation
$28.00–$35.00 per hour based on capability and experience.
Most qualified candidates should expect to fall within the $28–$30/hour range.
We are willing to pay up to $35/hour for an exceptional candidate who brings the combination of:
