Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ Ambassador
Experienced Educator | Relationship Builder | Program Growth | Part Time
Recipe for Success Foundation is seeking an experienced educator or school administrator to become the next Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ Ambassador—the knowledgeable, credible voice of our signature program and the person responsible for expanding its reach in Houston and beyond.
Since 2005, Recipe for Success Foundation has worked to change the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food. Our award-winning Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ program uses hands-on gardening, cooking and food exploration to help children build the knowledge, skills and healthy habits that can last a lifetime. More than 50,000 children have participated in our work.
Now we are looking for someone who can help us reach the next 50,000.
The Role
This is a growth-focused education ambassador role for someone who knows schools from the inside, and now wants to work part time.
You may be a former or retired teacher, principal, curriculum specialist, district administrator or other experienced educator. What matters most is that when you sit down with a principal, superintendent, curriculum director or classroom teacher, you speak their language and understand their world.
You will use that credibility to introduce educators and school leaders to Seed-to-Plate, demonstrate how it can enrich their students’ learning and wellbeing, and move interested schools from first conversation to becoming active Affiliate Partners.
You will build and manage a strong pipeline of school and district prospects—beginning with campuses across metro Houston, particularly those surrounding our Hope Farms campus—and cultivate opportunities to expand Seed-to-Plate into additional communities.
This is not simply an outreach position. You are responsible for converting relationships into participation. Success is measured by new Affiliate Partners, renewals and growth in the number of educators and children using Seed-to-Plate.
What You’ll Do
- Build and own a pipeline of prospective schools, districts and education partners.
- Develop relationships with principals, administrators, teachers and other education decision-makers.
- Present Seed-to-Plate with the authority and authenticity of an experienced educator who understands what works in real classrooms.
- Guide prospects from introduction and demonstration through decision-making and a signed Affiliate Partner agreement.
- Maintain relationships with existing Affiliate Partners and secure renewals.
- Represent Recipe for Success and Seed-to-Plate at education conferences, summits, meetings and community events.
- Cultivate and engage our Teachers Advisory Board as champions, advisors and connectors for the program.
- Organize strategic opportunities to introduce educators and parents to Seed-to-Plate.
- Maintain an accurate prospect and partner pipeline in Salesforce and provide clear reporting on progress, conversions and renewals.
- Stay connected to the substance of the program through a limited amount of Instructor mentoring, teacher engagement and curriculum feedback—ensuring that your advocacy for Seed-to-Plate remains grounded in its real-world classroom application.
Who We’re Looking For
You are first and foremost an educator. You understand teachers, children, schools and the realities competing for educators’ time and attention. You can explain not only what Seed-to-Plate is, but why it matters and how it can work successfully in a school environment.
You are also a natural advocate and relationship builder. You enjoy opening doors, making the case for something you believe in, asking for a decision and following through until you get one.
Strong candidates will bring:
- Meaningful professional experience as an educator, school administrator or education leader.
- The confidence and credibility to engage campus and district decision-makers as a peer.
- Strong presentation, relationship-building and persuasive communication skills.
- A results-oriented mindset and comfort being accountable for signings, renewals and program growth.
- Sales, fundraising, recruitment or business-development experience as a plus—but not as a substitute for authentic education experience.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM, or the ability and willingness to master it quickly.
- Strong organization and disciplined follow-through.
- A valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation for school and district visits throughout metro Houston.
Compensation
This is an hourly plus commission position, with commission earned on new Affiliate Partners you sign and existing partners you successfully renew.
We believe the person who grows the reach and impact of Seed-to-Plate should share in the success they create.
Interested?
Send us your resume, three references and a cover letter telling us why your experience as an educator makes you a compelling ambassador for Seed-to-Plate—and why you are excited about putting that experience to work helping us bring hands-on food education to more children, schools and communities.
We aren’t looking for someone simply to promote a program.
We’re looking for an educator who can champion it, grow it and help carry Seed-to-Plate into its next generation.
