Job Overview
We are hiring a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join a growing Licensed Behavioral Health Center in Huntington, West Virginia. This is an opportunity to be part of a mission driven team focused on addiction recovery, behavioral health, and helping people build stable, healthier lives.

We are looking for someone with lived experience, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping others in recovery. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their story, strengths, and professional skills to help individuals engage in treatment, build recovery supports, and move toward long term stability.

Responsibilities

Provide peer based support to individuals in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges
Help clients build recovery goals and develop practical steps toward stability and wellness
Support client engagement, motivation, and connection to treatment services
Assist clients with accessing community resources, recovery supports, transportation, housing, appointments, and other basic needs
Encourage self advocacy, personal responsibility, and recovery oriented decision making
Work closely with therapists, case managers, medical staff, and leadership to support continuity of care
Complete documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
Serve as a positive role model for recovery and resilience

Qualifications

Active Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification in West Virginia, or ability to obtain required certification
Lived experience in recovery and ability to use that experience in a professional and appropriate way
Knowledge of substance use recovery, community resources, and recovery support systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved populations
Experience in behavioral health, recovery services, or human services preferred
Must be organized, dependable, and able to complete documentation as required
