Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their wellness goals through evidence-based practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals’ lives while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth platforms.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth counseling sessions to address issues such as grief, trauma, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, PTSD, addiction, gender issues, and chronic pain.
Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety and stability.
Document all clinical encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EMR) following clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment and ICD coding updates.

Experience

Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings within behavioral health or clinical counseling environments.
Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders—including mental health conditions coupled with substance use or developmental disabilities—is highly desirable.
Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and delivering services remotely while maintaining clinical ethical guidelines under HIPAA compliance.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
Background in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques within inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred.
Ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment planning aligned with clinical documentation standards.
