Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product engineering, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production processes, reduce costs, and maintain product quality. The role involves leading projects to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance safety, as well as implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop processes within pertinent specifications to implement manufacturability of new products.
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. Identify areas for process improvement and lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
- Design and specify tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment for production to enhance efficiency and ensure process stability.
- Provide technical expertise to production teams to resolve process or product issues. Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and increase productivity.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and efficiency across production lines.
- Develop and implement manufacturing plans, including process flow, equipment requirements, and manpower estimates.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to manufacturing processes, materials, and labor. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction projects.
- Ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and customer requirements. Work closely with quality teams to investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Utilize statistical analysis, process capability studies, and other data-driven techniques to monitor process performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure that all processes and equipment comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements. Support the implementation of safety protocols and risk assessments in the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Significant experience in the field may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or significant production support role. Experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, and new product introduction preferred. Composite manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for designing tools and fixtures.
- Experience with manufacturing systems and ERP software.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, stamping, and/or other manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with process validation, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Work Environment:
- This role will be exclusively based in a manufacturing environment, requiring the ability to interact in person with both office staff and shop floor personnel.
- Occasional travel may be required to support projects or collaborate with suppliers.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
