Full Job Description

ACCOUNTING CLERK

Seeking a skilled Accountant Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Responsible for assisting with both clerical and administrative tasks in a busy construction office environment. Successful candidate required to have a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures. The Accounting Clerk fills an important and necessary role in the Company. They must be attentive to detail, thorough, possess a strong work ethic, and be professional and courteous when working with others. Ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Summary of Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable-Coding and posting invoices, balanced to monthly statements, checks prepared

Accounts Receivable-Pricing, reviewing, and posting customer accounts

Inventory-Posting entries daily, completing reports for journal entries

Research, track and resolve accounting or documentation discrepancies related to tasks and data entry

Customer Relations-Keep track of any customer issues, assist customers with questions, payment reminders

Match work orders to invoices

Assist with month end closing—reconcile accounts in a timely manner

Familiar with job costing

Human Resource and Payroll experience

Requirements:

Strong Computer Skills-Responsible for keying information and understanding various software programs utilized by the Company in addition to Microsoft Office. Advanced skills in Excel.

Ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it is information for the Company, customers, or employees.

Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing
