American Construction Supply is a growing construction supply company serving contractors and construction professionals throughout the region. We believe our success comes from taking care of our customers, supporting our employees, and operating as one team across our branches.

We are looking for an Inside Sales Representative who is energetic, dependable, customer-focused, and motivated to build relationships and grow sales.

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the storefront counter and on the phone, developing customer relationships, generating sales, preparing quotes, processing orders, and supporting the outside sales team.

This position is a key connection between our customers, sales team, vendors, and branch operations. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping people, has strong product knowledge or a desire to learn, communicates well, and takes ownership from the first customer contact through delivery or order completion.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Relationship Building

Build strong, long-term relationships with contractors and other customers.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer calls, emails, and inquiries.
Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
Follow up with customers to ensure orders and issues are resolved.
Develop a reputation as a dependable resource customers can count on.

Sales

Generate sales through inbound customer requests, follow-up, and proactive outreach.
Identify opportunities to sell additional products and services.
Prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
Follow up on outstanding quotes and opportunities.
Develop knowledge of construction products, applications, and competitive offerings.
Work toward established sales and gross-profit goals.

Order Management

Accurately enter and manage customer orders.
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, delivery, and outside sales to ensure orders are completed correctly.
Communicate product availability, lead times, pricing, and delivery information to customers.
Resolve order discrepancies and customer concerns quickly.
Maintain accurate customer and sales information in company systems.

Outside Sales Support

Provide pricing, product availability, quotes, and other information to outside salespeople.
Help outside salespeople stay informed about customer needs and opportunities.
Assist with follow-up on quotes and open opportunities.
Serve as a reliable partner to the outside sales team.

Branch & Team Support

Work closely with branch personnel to provide a seamless customer experience.
Communicate effectively with warehouse, purchasing, delivery, and management.
Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Help create a culture where corporate, branches, and sales work together rather than operating in silos.
Take ownership of problems rather than simply passing them to someone else.

Experience using CRM, ERP, or sales/order-management systems is helpful.
Strong computer and communication skills.

Compensation: Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $25-$28/ hr
Medical: ACS pays 100% of the employee premium on our company-sponsored PPO medical plan, effective the first of the month after 60 days. Dental, vision, and life coverage available, and premiums are paid pre-tax through our Premium Only Plan
Time off: PTO, six paid holidays, and 40 hours of unpaid personal time annually
