Full Job Description

Sports Trainer

Sharpen Skills Training is an athletic development facility located in Brunswick, OH, with a facility that has over 20,000 square feet of space to provide weight training, conditioning on turf, and alternative workouts on basketball & volleyball courts. Our mission is to offer the best physical and mental training programs to sharpen athletes of all ages. Our trainers work with small groups, teams, and individuals to improve strength and power, increase speed and reaction time, and prepare their mind for their next competition.

Duties & Responsibilities:
● Train groups of 5 - 15 athletes varying in grades K - 12
● Teach athletes proper weight training form
● Builds relationships with all athletes, parents, and coaches that walk through the door
● Assist Sharpen trainers with conditioning of athletes
● Support and assist trainers with all aspects of training and testing athletes
● Instruct athletes in sport-specific classes (Volleyball or Lacrosse Background Preferred)
● Follow Sharpen Skills Training guidelines and policies with special attention to, attendance, punctuality and safety
● Any other duties assigned

Qualifications:
● Must be pursuing a degree/certification in exercise science, health science, kinesiology, athletic training, or related field
● Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
● Passionate about helping athletes of all levels and ages reach their full potential
● Understanding of various sports (baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, etc.)
● Has an exciting, fun and enthusiastic personality
● Preferred Certified personal trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, group fitness instructor
● Preferred CPR/AED and First Aid certification

Hours: 5 - 20 hours per week; typically weekdays; occasional weekends

Pay: $17/hr

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Ability to Relocate:
