Full Job Description

Job Title: Full-Time Optician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Optician to join our team in a full-time role in our Ebensburg office. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and optical service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences
Perform accurate optical measurements (PD, seg height, frame fit, etc.) and review all lens options
Educate patients on lens features, coatings, and contact lens options
Verify and explain vision insurance benefits, including coverage for exams, glasses, and contact lenses
Enter orders for glasses, contact lenses, and exams into the practice management system and generate appropriate charges
Submit orders through optical labs and insurance portals
Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear as needed
Track and check in incoming eyewear and contact lens orders; coordinate patient notifications for pickup
Dispense glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and patient satisfaction
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area
Manage frame inventory, including restocking, merchandising, and tracking

Qualifications:

Previous experience as an optician or in an optical/medical office preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and order entry
Knowledge of vision insurance plans is a plus
ABO certification preferred but not required

Schedule & Requirements:

Full-time position
Daytime weekday hours only
Must be flexible and willing to travel between both office locations
