Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Experienced CNC Mill/Lathe Set Up/Programmer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling and/or lathe machines to produce high-precision parts. Your expertise will ensure efficient manufacturing processes, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement in machining operations.

Duties

Set up CNC milling and lathe machines, including tooling selection and fixture installation, ensuring proper machine calibration for each job
Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software and G-code to optimize machining processes for complex parts
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts within specified tolerances
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part quality during production
Perform manual machining tasks when necessary to support prototype or small-batch runs
Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, adjusting programs or setups to maintain production flow
Conduct CNC quality inspections and ensure all parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
Determine work holding/fixturing methods.
Accurately record time spent on specific jobs or other activities during the week.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Adherence to AS9100D and or IATF 16949 quality standards.

Experience

Proven experience setting up and programming CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of CNC G-code programming, M-code functions, and CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD systems
Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting mechanical blueprints with precision measurement instruments
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements
Demonstrated experience in close tolerance machining.
Ability to problem solve without direct supervision.
